Date: 02/03/2018
The India Hotel Review Report 2017 is a collaboration between Horwath HTL and STR.
In this report, we examine Occupancy, Average Daily Rate and Revenue Per Available Room for several key markets. In addition, besides assessing the performance of 13 major markets which account for almost 70% of India’s branded inventory, we have looked at the performance of newer markets across the country.
2017 also saw two defining events – the liquor ban for bars located 500m from highways and the new government sales tax, GST. We look at what effect these have had on the market.
Here are the highlights of Indian hotel performance in 2017 contained in the report:
All India occupancy rose 1.4% to 65.3% – the highest in the last 9 years
A marginal ADR growth of Rs. 89
Most major markets saw increases across most parameters
