Supported by hotelleriesuisse, we made it our business to map the “brand-scape” of hotels and chains in Switzerland. The resulting report details our findings and provides an overview of not only the marketplace itself but also of international and domestic hotel chains actively pursuing business in Switzerland and the market shares of chain hotels. This initial survey concentrates on brands.

At a total count of 218 chain-affiliated hotels, Switzerland is a rather small player. Currently, domestic chains hold a considerable share thereof.

We will follow the developments in the years to come and broaden our review for more unique insights.
